Healthy Fat and Protein Snack

These bite-sized snacks are a great way to curb hunger with a balance of fats and protein.

Nut Butter Protein Balls

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup natural almond butter

  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts (optional)

  • 1/4 cup protein powder (any flavour)

  • 1 tablespoon ground chia seeds or flaxseeds

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • A pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats, protein powder, chia seeds, and salt.

  2. Add the almond/peanut butter, honey/maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix until a sticky dough forms.

  3. If the mixture is too dry, add a splash of water or milk (1 teaspoon at a time) until it holds together.

  4. Fold in chocolate chips or chopped nuts for added texture.

  5. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls. Place them on a parchment-lined tray.

  6. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up before serving.
